 This module should enable you to:
1.  Describe special risks of long-term care residents  in regard to:

• urinary tract infections
• pneumonia
• influenza
• scabies
• tuberculosis
• vaginitis
• herpes zoster
• HIV, AIDS
• antibiotic-resistant infections

2. Describe the ways infections can appear atypically in older residents.
3.  List at least 8 possible signs of infection.

 

In order to fulfill requirements to obtain the contact hour the learner must read the entire module, take and pass the test with a score of at least 70%, and submit the Continuing Education Registration and Evaluation Form on the last page of this module. Contact hours for this program will be offered through 2013.
